About Me

MY PURPOSE

other-sideKathy is a well-regarded resource amongst busy, professional parents and entrepreneurs who are time poor, but conscious about making healthier choices for themselves and their families.  She is a Certified Health Coach (and mum), specialising in healthy lifestyle overhauls for mums and kids and domestic detoxes for your homes.

Although her strength is in helping clients see the big picture around food, she also works with them to integrate tweaks and changes in other areas of their life that compliments their way of living. By opening up new possibilities and simple solutions that they haven’t thought of before, and giving them a plan and practical strategies, they get back on track quickly, whilst overcoming old routines and common food beliefs to create better health.

Her passionate journey towards better health has given her the opportunity to help others who are in “overwhelm” and “frustration” mode – especially when it comes to food and making better choices for themselves and their kids.

The number one thing that comes up in her conversations with clients is “thinking” they are buying healthy, when in reality, for the majority, they are buying into Big Food’s magic marketing hype. Her purpose is to educate and teach people the truth. She is on your side! By opening up their eyes to the “real” facts they experience immediate clarity, and a sense of control around making their own food choices again – instead of being “manipulated and led’ by food companies.

She understands that everybody is BUSY so her steps and solutions are fast, effective and easily implemented. Her down to earth approach and “straight up, no fluff or hype” coaching/teaching style is a winning formula in a world of time wasters and fairy dust. What you see is what you get.

Due to increasing popular demand, she now offers exclusive and personalised “VIP lifestyle overhaul ½ days” – targeted especially for busy people who don’t have the time to be coached over a 2-3 month period but want the knowledge and action steps now!

THE STORY BEHIND “ME”:

To say I am passionate about health and wellness is an understatement – just ask my friends!  Nutrition and fitness has been my life for nearly 20 years due to childhood chronic asthma and medication-induced side effects.  In my teenage years I looked constantly bloated in the face, I was tired all the time, often missed sports and had put on so much weight because of it I was suffering at school.  I didn’t fit in – those crucial years when body image and being popular is EVERYTHING especially to girls!

It wasn’t my fault. In the 70’s there was NO education, NO person explaining these things to my parents and so as I reached 20 I began my quest to get as healthy as I could using the most natural ingredients and food that I could – plus a healthy dose of exercise!

At age 28, although I was fit and healthy, I suffered a major burnout from working 80+ hours in the hospitality field in Sydney which saw my hair fall out in clumps! I had developed stress induced alopecia and to this day parts of my hair is still very short in places. Another “OMG! This can’t be happening to me” moment for a woman – it’s superficial I know but ask any woman how she feels about her hair and then ask yourself how you would feel losing it?

It was a major turning point to be told that unless I changed my lifestyle I could possibly be very sick or dead by 30! A stressful, fast paced working life had been wreaking havoc on my internal system.  So easy to do in this day and age yet I was blindly and frenetically moving through life thinking I was fine and could handle it. I moved back to the Gold Coast and learned balance!

Many years later, after constantly giving recommendations to family and friends, I became qualified so I could learn more from the best in the world and coach people how to live a balanced healthy lifestyle – no diets and no stress or frustration in sight!

WHAT I LOVE TO DO AND HOW I STAY HEALTHY

Personally, I am an outdoor girl through and through – I love being out in the sunshine and near water whenever I can! I love the gym but wouldn’t dream of running in a marathon – ever!  My secret weapon for health is clean, fresh food in its simplest and rawest form along with some basic but fundamental supplements to tie it all together.  I wholeheartedly believe in “everything in moderation”  so from time to time I splurge and treat myself to a wicked lunch or dinner as well as having a weekly stock of organic 85% dark chocolate in the fridge! That is a MUST have staple in our household!

My EXTENSIVE training included studying over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques as well as innovative coaching methods taught by the world’s top health and wellness experts. Over 800+ hours of some pretty amazing, jaw dropping and life changing lectures. No stone was left unturned!
